Stay tuned for future updates, as we look forward to sharing the comprehensive insights gleaned from our completed project.

THE PROBLEM.

In today’s world, where sustainability and energy efficiency are paramount, the challenge of educating and engaging audiences on these crucial topics has become increasingly complex. Northern Gas Networks (NGN) recognised this challenge when faced with the task of conveying the intricacies of energy-efficient technologies and the significance of Futures Close, a representative UK housing development.

Traditional educational methods fell short in bridging the knowledge gap, underscoring the urgent need for an innovative, accessible, and educational solution.

THE PROJECT.

Our collaboration with NGN on the AR Virtual Tour Guide project aimed to redefine how users interact with energy-efficient technologies through immersive Augmented Reality experiences. By blending real-world data with virtual overlays, the project sought to provide users with a captivating journey into the realm of sustainable living.

Our goal was clear: empower users with the knowledge and understanding needed to embrace energy efficiency and sustainability in their daily lives.

THE CHALLENGES

Navigating the complexities of developing an AR application presented several challenges along the way. Integrating intricate real-world data seamlessly into the AR environment while ensuring user-friendliness posed a significant hurdle.

Moreover, meeting NGN’s accessibility standards and catering to diverse user preferences added another layer of complexity. Yet, these challenges served as opportunities for innovation, driving us to push the boundaries of what’s possible with AR technology.

THE SOLUTION.

Our approach to overcoming these challenges was rooted in meticulous planning and collaboration. By developing comprehensive design specifications and adopting agile project management methodologies, we laid the groundwork for success. The app’s structure was carefully crafted into distinct phases, each dedicated to refining the user experience and ensuring alignment with NGN’s requirements. Through iterative testing and feedback sessions, we fine-tuned the app’s functionality and usability, resulting in a seamless and engaging AR experience for users.

Throughout the project, our commitment to innovation and excellence remained unwavering. We leveraged advanced AR technologies to bring Futures Close to life, allowing users to explore both its exteriors and interiors with unprecedented detail. Real-time data on energy performance metrics, cost analysis, and environmental impact provided users with valuable insights, empowering them to make informed decisions about energy usage and sustainability.

As the project continues to evolve, our dedication to pushing the boundaries of AR technology remains steadfast. Together with NGN, we’re shaping the future of energy efficiency education, one immersive AR experience at a time.
